Principle Properties

Polikor Polytherm is a heat resistant polyester putty which is specially designed for powder coating applications. Polikor Polytherm is a semi flexible polyester based putty with excellent adhesion, shaping and sanding properties. It has butter like workability with a creamy texture and high filling capacity for easy applications. It gives tack-free surfaces without any shrinkage and cracks during curing.

Application Surfaces:

Polikor Polytherm polyester putty can be applied to bare metals including aluminum, steel, FRC, SMC, as well as old painted metal surfaces. It gives excellent adhesion on galvanized surfaces.

In laboratuary conditions up to 240°C with max 10 minutes, Polytherm putty gives excellent adhesion. The oven staying time is important in Polytherm Putty applications.

Mixing Ratio:

Polikor Polytherm Polyester Putty 100. Hardener 2-3 (by weight).

Gel time:

4-8 minutes (depending on temperature and proportion of hardener)

Sanding Time:

20 – 30 mins after application (at 25C)

Sanding Paper:

P-100 - P-180

Storage

Polikor Polytherm Polyester Putty should be kept in its original can and in a cool place with the lid securely closed. Under suitable conditions it can be stored for one year at temperature up to 25 C.

Caution

Flammable. Harmful if inhaled. Vapors may cause flash fire. Irritating to eyes and skin. Do not eat, drink or smoke while using this product. Do not breathe the vapors. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical assistance. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately. Use only in well ventilated areas away from heat and flames. Keep out of reach of children. Do not return unused mixed material to can. It should only be used by trained professionals.
